Dr. Kim’s major field of practice and research is geriatric neuropsychiatry, focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related disorders. He also has strong interest in characterizing subsyndromal late-life depression. He is currently leading the Korean Longitudinal Study on Health and Aging (KLoSHA), a multidisciplinary longitudinal cohort study on Korean aged 65 years or older, and he is developing an automatic quantification method for white matter lesions on MRI with the Neuropsychiatric Imaging Research Lab of the Duke University Medical School.
