Young-Ho Khang is a professor of health policy and management at Seoul National University College of Medicine. He held professorial positions for 13 years at the Department of Preventive Medicine, University of Ulsan College of Medicine, before returning to Seoul National University in 2013. Prof. Khang has been a visiting research scientist at the Center for Social Epidemiology and Population Health, University of Michigan School of Public Health (USA) in 2001-2002 and at the Department of Epidemiology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Public Health (USA) and Sansom Institute for Health Research, University of South Australia (Australia) in 2010. He has published over 250 papers in domestic and international journals that have attracted over 110,000 citations and a Scopus H index of 93. Prof. Khang had worked for the International Journal of Epidemiology, BMC Public Health, and the Journal of Preventive Medicine and Public Health as an editorial board member. His research interests include socioeconomic health inequalities, maternal and early childhood home visitation intervention, social determinants of health, tobacco control, life expectancy, and population health trends. He is now leading national expansion of a maternal and early childhood home visitation program in Korea and is also conducting a community randomized controlled trial to examine the effect of the home visiting program on child health and development and maternal health.
