Professor Lee investigates molecular imaging in cardiovascular diseases and clinical PET/CT in cancer. The former is the main research topic in the preclinical laboratory and the latter the major clinical activity in clinic. The key equipments are small animal dedicated imaging systems (SPECT-CT, PET-CT) and state-of-the-art clinical PET-CT system. Myocardial infarction is being actively investigated using immunobiology/pathobiology and imaging tools. Cancer metabolism is also under scrutiny in the perspective of glucose transporter and hexokinase expression. Not only radionuclide application but also bioluminescence/fluorescence probes are being used for the research. The research team aims for the most distinguished molecular imaging research center in cardiovascular diseases in Korea.
