Dr. Hyoung Jin Kang is a specialist of a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and also a specialist of pediatric clinical trial. He has been studied pediatric leukemia, cancer, and hematologic disease, and focused on studying therapy methods such as chemotherapy, cell and gene therapy, and especially hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. He intended to develop most appropriate therapy and apply it for clinical research. Major contents of his study are a research 1) on optimization of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation using the pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic/pharmacogenomic modeling based chemotherapeutic conditioning regimen, 2) on immune cell and gene therapy, 3) on the development of new treatment for the refractory leukemia.
Dr. Kang graduated and obtained MD, MS, and PhD degrees from the Seoul National University College of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship training in the Department of Pediatrics at the Seoul National University Hospital. He had been worked as a scientific researcher of Pediatric Oncology Branch, National Cancer Center from 2003 and moved to Seoul National University in 2005. He also had been studied as a PostDoc fellow in the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children's Hospital.
