OVERVIEW

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology offers comprehensive management of the ear, nose and neck diseases. We are also dedicated to supporting basic and clinical research programs and educating excellent physicians. Indeed, this particular field of medicine dealt only with the ears, nose and throat in the past. However, with remarkable technological advances that involve microscopic and endoscopic surgeries, the boundary of otorhinolaryngology has been remarkably expanded, leading to the organization of specialized divisions for specific diseases. Experienced doctors diagnose and treat a wide range of ear, nose and throat conditions in both adults and children. As subspecialists, we can focus our expertise on a specific aspect of ear, nose or throat health to give you the best care. Our physicians provide the entirety of otorhinolaryngology services to patients throughout the country as well as the world, from sophisticated, minimally invasive surgeries to pioneering treatments. The faculty of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Seoul National University College of Medicine is comprised of 15 professors and 4 clinical doctors: 10 in the Seoul National University Hospital, 5 in the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, 4 in the Seoul Metropolitan Government Seoul National University Boramae Medical Center. There are also 10 doctors who are under fellowship in our department and 25 residents who are under our train program. All together, we are taking part as the leader of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery societies in Korea by making every effort to perform research, education and practice in our field of medicine.
